				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>El Pleno del Consejo Regulador ha acordado, con un 98% de respaldo, acudir a la vía contenciosa para hacer frente a la decisión del Gobierno Vasco de impulsar el expediente de creación de la Denominación ‘Viñedos de Álava’</strong><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p>Logroño, 10 de septiembre de 2021.- Con el arranque del nuevo curso, el <strong>Pleno del Consejo Regulador</strong> ha retomado esta mañana su actividad reuniéndose para tratar asuntos de relevancia como los primeros datos de la vendimia 2021, sus próximas actuaciones en relación con la solicitud de protección e inscripción de la denominación de origen protegida <em>&#8216;Arabako Mahastiak / Viñedos de Álava&#8217;</em>, así como algunos cambios en los requisitos mínimos para los etiquetados destinados a los vinos protegidos por la Denominación.</p>
<p>A expensas de las condiciones climatológicas de las próximas semanas, el Órgano de Control del Consejo Regulador ha señalado que el estado vegetativo y sanitario de la vid es bueno y que se observa una correcta evolución de la maduración del fruto. Los técnicos confirman una semana de retraso respecto a la vendimia de 2020.</p>
<p><strong>Durante la sesión se ha aprobado la interposición de recurso contencioso-administrativo contra la desestimación del recurso de alzada a la decisión favorable a la solicitud de protección e inscripción de la Denominación de Origen Protegida ‘Arabajo Mahastiak – Viñedos de Álava’ por parte del Gobierno Vasco; el acuerdo para acudir a la vía contenciosa para hacer frente a dicha decisión del ejecutivo vasco ha sido prácticamente unánime, con un 98% de respaldo.</strong></p>
<p>Según marcaba el orden del día, se han debatido también propuestas de modificación al Pliego de Condiciones y Estatutos del Consejo Regulador; por un lado, se han actualizado los requisitos para el uso de la mención ‘Viñedos Viejos’, y por otro, se ha aprobado &#8211; por amplia mayoría de los votos emitidos- la indicación, en las etiquetas, del lugar de radicación de las bodegas. Se establecen una serie de criterios mínimos a cumplir para el empleo de este tipo de mención, los cuales aseguran que el consumidor pueda discernir de la figura de los &#8216;Vinos de Municipio&#8217; y garantizan un alto grado de transparencia.</p>

<p>Al hilo de este de debate, el presidente del Consejo Regulador,<strong> Fernando Ezquerro</strong>, ha recalcado que <em>“ninguna otra Denominación destina tantos recursos técnicos, jurídicos y económicos para evitar la confusión del consumidor”</em> a la vez que ha expresado su<em> “enorme preocupación ante el reciente eco en determinados medios de comunicación de opiniones personales de integrantes de esta Denominación, que si bien son respetables como tales, no debieran difundirse sin el debido rigor ni previo a su debate en el correspondiente foro interno, porque perjudican enormemente el prestigio de nuestra enseña, que es referente y modelo para muchas otras”.</em> La intervención de Ezquerro ha sido ampliamente respaldada por los vocales del Pleno, quienes han advertido que la malinterpretación de declaraciones realizadas fuera de lugar puede confundir al consumidor y dañar fuertemente el fondo de comercio de la marca.</p>
<p>Por primera vez, al pleno del Consejo Regulador ha acudido la presidenta de una de las tres CCAA por las que se extiende la Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja; <strong>Concha Andreu</strong> ha mostrado el apoyo y máximo respeto de su ejecutivo a los acuerdos adoptados en el seno del Consejo Regulador, y al término de la sesión ha comparecido ante los medios de comunicación, expresando su <em>“apoyo en la defensa de la unidad y unicidad de la Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja”</em>. Andreu ha recalcado cómo el Gobierno trabaja <em>&#8220;alineado con el Consejo Regulador&#8221; y cómo desde el ejecutivo &#8220;rechazan la iniciativa de Viñedos de Álava por su falta de sentido y fundamento, así como por el aprovechamiento y daño de la imagen de la Denominación&#8221;.</em></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>BODEGAS JUAN PIÑERO HAS CONSOLIDATED ITSELF AS AN IDEAL WINERY FOR THE AGING OF MANZANILLA IN SANLÚCAR DE BARRAMEDA</strong></p>
<p>A centennial winery built in 1920 was on the verge of disappearing when it was rescued in 1992 by<strong> Juan Piñero</strong>, a local builder.  His initial intention was to convert the Sanlúcar de Barrameda winery into housing, however, the economic outlook forced him to change his plans.  The economic crisis, as well as the charm of the place, led him to use the building to age wines that he later sold to commercial wineries.</p>
<p>On Trasbolsa Street, in the Barrio Bajo of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Bodegas Juan Piñero has become a typically Sanluqueña winery, ideal for ageing manzanilla.  The winery has seven criaderas and one solera, there are seven meters separating the highest barrels of the criadera from the roof, which is more than sufficient, it has large windows facing west and east to take advantage of the sea breezes, the ground is clay and the stones are ballast, these are all factors which allow the maintenance of a coolness and an humidity that favour the aging of manzanilla.</p>
<p>In 2000, Bodegas Juan Piñero bought the Pedro Domecq winery firm, including its Maruja manzanilla wine barrels that were moved to the ideal location for ageing manzanilla, that is, its Calle Trasbolsa winery.  With the arrival in 2013 of winemaker <strong>Ramiro Ibáñez</strong>, an expert in albariza soil, the winery now produces generous wines using one hundred percent of the Palomino Fino variety, making manzanilla under the DO Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda and fino under the DO Jerez-Xérès-Sherry.</p>
<p><strong>Manzanilla Maruja</strong> begins its life in the vineyards of Pago de Hornillo, Sanlúcar de Barrameda.  The grapes undergo a fermentation with native yeasts from the vineyard itself, and then a biological aging, that is, an ageing under a layer of ‘flor’ (yeasts).  It is a system of eight criaderas, therefore, the average age of the wine is between eight and nine years.  Juan Piñero tries to replicate the profile of manzanilla from 40 years ago, with just a gentle filtering. The manzanilla of the last solera is bottled, the solera being the barrel closest to the ground.</p>
<p><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/bot-manzanilla-maruja.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-26007" alt="Manzanilla Maruja, una joya sanluqueña con más de 8 años en las criaderas de Bodegas Juan Piñero" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/bot-manzanilla-maruja-130x300.jpg" width="130" height="300" /></a>In appearance, Maruja is clear, bright and pale in intensity of a golden yellow colour with straw-coloured tears.  On the nose, it is clean and medium (+) in intensity.  Although it is a manzanilla with more aging than many others, primary aromas are still perceivable.  The floral notes of chamomile and blossom stand out, as well as notes of apple and citrus, without forgetting the emblematic salty and mineral aromas of the albariza soil.  As for secondary aromas, they mainly come from yeasts, being lees, bread and pastry aromas.  There are also secondary aromas from the oak, being light notes of vanilla and caramel. The long aging results in the tertiary aromas of almonds, marzipan, dried apple, hay, nuts and toasted bread standing out.</p>
<p>On the palate, Maruja is refreshingly dry, medium (-) in acidity, medium in alcohol, with a round and voluminous body and a pronounced intensity of flavours.  As for the primary flavours, there are hints of apple, olives and citrus, as well as the expressive salty and mineral flavours of the albariza.  The secondary flavours that come from the yeast are of lees, bakery and pastries, and those that come from oak are vanilla.  The average of eight years of aging has allowed the development of tertiary flavours, being of almonds, marzipan, dried apple and walnuts.  The finish is long and persistent, delivering salty and almond flavours.</p>
<p>Maruja is an excellent generous wine.  A service temperature between 8°C and 10°C is recommendable.  Given that the wine has just a light acidity, and therefore an undeniable freshness, it would be pleasant not only consumed as an aperitif, but would also pair well with olives, seafood and fish, pata negra ham, cold soups, salads and even sushi.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>CASAL DE ARMÁN CHOOSES A SELECTION OF THE BEST GRAPES FROM THEIR MISENHORA FINCA TO MAKE A WINE THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE TYPICITY OF RIBEIRO</strong></p>
<p>Bodegas Casal de Armán belongs to the fourth generation of a family group that, in the late 90s, decided to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors by producing wines in Ribeiro. The family acquired an old farmhouse in the province of Ourense that they turned into a rural hotel, restaurant and winery, the latter being equipped with stainless steel tanks, pneumatic presses and sorting tables, among other facilities.</p>
<p>Bodegas Casal de Armán owns seven fincas, with Finca Misenhora being the one of interest for the wine in question.  However, in each of the winery&#8217;s vineyards, only varieties indigenous to the DO Ribeiro in Galicia are cultivated, such as Albariño, Godello, Loureira, Torrontés and Treixadura, which produce a yield of 5,000 kilograms per hectare.</p>

<p>Finca Misenhora is located in an elevated area of Beade and has five terraces with an altitude of between 200 and 350 meters above sea level, all facing southeast in order to take advantage of its good sun exposure.  Its four hectares of vineyards are located on poor soil called ‘Sabrego’; this is a decomposed granite soil with a small area of alluvial deposits.</p>
<p>Each finca has its own individual harvest date to ensure the high quality of the grapes.  What’s more, the grapes are harvested manually, placed in boxes which hold up to 15 kilos, and are then transported in isothermal vans to the winery where they are kept in climatized warehouses at a constant temperature of between 10°C and 12°C.  The selection of the best grapes is done on vibrating tables, and when it comes to pressing, this process is carried out in pneumatic presses, without destemming the whole grapes to avoid oxidation.  Fermentation then takes place over a period of 20 days at a controlled temperature of between 15°C and 16°C in 500-litre fine-grain French oak barrels. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine rests on its lees for eight months in barrel, and this is then followed by a year of aging in the bottle.  Due to the cold winter experienced in Ribero, the clarification process can occur naturally before bottling.</p>

<p>In appearance, <strong>Armán Finca Misenhora 2016</strong> is clear, medium in intensity, golden in colour and leaves golden yellow tears trickling down the glass.  On the nose, the wine is clean, has a pronounced intensity of aroma characteristics and displays mainly primary aromas with secondary and tertiary nuances. The primary aromas are floral such as honeysuckle, acacia and blossom, of green fruit such as apple, gooseberry and pear, of citrus fruit, of stone fruit such as apricot and peach, and finally there are mineral aromas.  As for the secondary and tertiary aromas, respectively there are light lactic buttery notes and hints of almonds, honey and hay.</p>
<p>Armán Finca Misenhora on the palate is dry, medium (+) in acidity, medium in alcohol, velvety-full in body with a pronounced intensity of flavour characteristics.  The primary flavours are floral such as honeysuckle, acacia and blossom, of green fruit such as apple, gooseberry and pear, of citrus fruit such as lemon, of stone fruit such as apricot and peach, of tropical fruit such as pineapple and there are also some mineral chalky flavours.  There are slight buttery and yeasty tastes in terms of secondary flavours, and also hints of almonds and honey in terms of tertiary flavours.  The finish is long.<br />
In conclusion, Armán Finca Misenhora is excellent and it is suitable to drink now, but with aging, tertiary aromas will develop even more.  It is recommended to open the wine half an hour before serving at a temperature around 10°C.  As for food pairings, it would pair very well with fish dishes, white meat, piquillo peppers stuffed with cheese, asparagus with cured ham, nuts and even desserts.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>FUENTESPINA SELECCIÓN 2016 IS A MONOVARIETAL RED WINE FROM THE BURGOS WINE REGION, DO RIBERA DEL DUERO, MADE 100% WITH TEMPRANILLO GRAPES THAT COME FROM VINEYARDS AVERAGING 25 YEARS OF AGE</strong></p>
<p>The <strong>Avelino Vegas</strong> group is comprised of several wineries, all located in wine areas of excellence.  They dedicate themselves to producing high-quality wines at affordable prices, making the group a leader in terms of sales.</p>
<p>The family winery of Avelino Vegas was founded in 1950 in the Segovian town of Santiuste de San Juan Bautista.  It was not until 1994 that Bodegas Fuentespina was founded as a new project, merging the already existing cooperative in the town of Fuentespina with the Bodegas Avelino Vegas group.</p>
<p>Currently, <strong>Bodegas Fuentespina</strong> has 600 hectares of vineyards within the DO Ribera del Duero.  Under a continental climate, it houses vineyards that are between 50 and 70 years old that grow on limestone and sandy soils.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/vino-tinto-fuentespina-seleccion-2016-B.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-25965" alt="Fuentespina Selección 2016, un irresistible Tempranillo de la zona burgalesa de Ribera del Duero" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/vino-tinto-fuentespina-seleccion-2016-B-123x300.jpg" width="123" height="300" /></a>Fuentespina Selección 2016</strong> is a monovarietal red wine from the Burgos wine region, DO Ribera del Duero, made 100% with Tempranillo grapes that come from vineyards averaging 25 years of age.  After harvesting the grape bunches, the must is then macerated with the skins before alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature.  Then, with regards to aging, the wine rests in new French oak barrels for 16 months.</p>
<p>In appearance, the wine is clear, deep in intensity, cherry-coloured with violet edges and has unmistakable tears that run down the sides of the glass.  On the nose, the condition is clean and the intensity of aromas is pronounced, delivering a complex range of primary, secondary and tertiary aromas.  The primary aromas are of ripe red fruit such as cranberry, cherry, plum, raspberry and redcurrant.  The secondary aromas come from oak and are of coffee, caramel, chocolate, charred wood, vanilla and, above all, charred aromas.  There are also nuances of tertiary aromas, being meaty and of ripe or cooked red fruit.</p>
<p>On the palate, Fuentespina Selección 2016 is dry, medium (+) in acidity, high in tannins and medium in alcohol.  It has an undeniably full body and shows a range of flavours which results in a pronounced intensity of flavours.  Being relatively young, the primary flavours are still noticeable, that is, the wine shows primary flavours of red fruit such as cranberry, cherry, plum, raspberry and redcurrant.  Then, as a result of being aged in French oak barrels, there are charred and roasted flavours, as well as hints of coffee, caramel, chocolate, toasted wood and vanilla.  The tertiary flavours, although subtle, are beginning to develop, being of ripe or cooked red fruit, leather and meaty.  The finish is long and persistent.</p>
<p>In conclusion, Fuentespina Selección 2016 is excellent.  It is suitable to drink now, but it also has potential for ageing, in order for the tertiary aromas and flavours to develop increasing complexity.  This Tempranillo, served at an optimum temperature of between 16-18ºC, would make an excellent pairing with red meats such as lamb, Iberian pork or any game meat, as well as stews, cured cheeses and charcuterie.</p>

<p><strong>Carlos Rey Lustres</strong> claims that deciding the name of his winery and wines wasn’t an overly taxing exercise, since his grandmother had previously been in charge of a host of winemaking chores such as weaving baskets for the harvest, labouring in the vineyards, pruning the vines and, above all, making incredible wines in sync with nature.  The name, therefore, could not be any other than that of his grandmother, <strong>Anadigna</strong>.</p>

<p>However, Anadigna’s grandson showed neither a passion nor even an interest in wine when he was younger.  It wasn’t until 2012 when Carlos’ perception of the world of wine began to change.  He decided to take on the responsibility of continuing the family legacy, dedicating himself to the winery in the hope of not disappointing his ancestors.  There is no doubt that they would indeed be proud if they were to see him now, treating his wines as if they were his own children.  In fact, all three Anadigna wines have achieved 90 points or more in the Peñín Guide 2020 and have also been awarded five stars in terms of value for money.</p>
<p><strong>Bodega Anadigna</strong> is located in the Val do Salnés, one of the five sub-zones in which the DO Rias Baixas is divided, where the Albariño grape reigns.  With a proximity to the sea, on the left bank of the river Arosa, it is the largest sub-zone comprised of 1,487 hectares, it is also the flattest and has an Atlantic climate, that is, with mild temperatures and high rainfall.  Bodega Anadigna’s vineyards are on a slight slope of a south-westerly aspect, with shallow sandy soils and are situated in the Concellos of Meaño and Sanxenxo.</p>
<p><strong>Anadigna Sobre Lías 2017</strong> is a monovarietal of 100% Albariño and this vintage allowed the production of 2,400 bottles.  With regards to the winemaking, under the supervision of oenologists, <strong>Cayetano Otero</strong> and <strong>Patricia Presas</strong>, controlled fermentation took place in stainless steel at 16°C for 21 days.  This was followed by partial malolactic fermentation and the wine was kept then on its lees for seven months, with pumping over taking place every week. Before bottling, cold tartaric stabilization was performed at -5 ° C.</p>

<p>On the palate, this albariño is aromatic, creamy and very dry, medium (+) in acidity, medium in alcohol, medium (+) in the body due to the pleasant texture resulting from the time spent on lees and has a medium (+) flavour intensity.  The primary flavours are floral of elderflower, honeysuckle and white blossom, of green fruit such as apple, grape and gooseberry, of stone fruit such as apricot and peach and of tropical fruit such as melon and lychee.  The typically characteristic quality of Albariño is apparent, that is, notes of minerality and salinity, as well as delicate secondary flavours of pastries and bread dough resulting from the time spent on lees.</p>
<p>Anadigna Sobre Lías 2017 is excellent, awarded with 92 Peñín points.  It is suitable to drink now, especially paired with any seafood or fish dish, as well as with delicate cheeses, green herby salads or even with spicy dishes.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>THE HIGH ACIDITY OF LOS PEDROS TINTO ROBLE REVEALS THE ALTITUDE AT WHICH THE VINEYARDS GROW IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GALERA, GRANADA</strong></p>
<p>Granada, February 6, 2020.- <strong>Bodega Carayol &amp; Castellar</strong> is found in the municipality of Galera, Granada.  The winery is better known for its sparkling wines than for the other wine styles it produces. As a result of carrying out elaboration methods with a personal touch, using the traditional method and lees ageing, Bodega Carayol &amp; Castellar has achieved recognition in international competitions.</p>
<p>The grapes used to make <strong>Los Pedros Tinto Roble</strong> are Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha, which ferment at a controlled temperature and then the wine rests for three months in French oak barrels.</p>
<p><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/lospedrostintoroble.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-25872" alt="Los Pedros, tinto, roble, Bodegas Carayol y Castellar, Granada, Sierra Nevada," src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/lospedrostintoroble.jpg" width="660" height="440" /></a>In appearance, <strong>Los Pedros Tinto Roble</strong> is clear, medium in intensity, ruby in colour progressing to violet on the rim and there are some traces of tears on the sides of the glass. On the nose, the wine is clean, light in intensity and shows mainly primary aromas, as well as hints of aromas resulting from the French oak. The aromas of red fruit are redcurrant, raspberry and red plum. In addition, there are some rather resinous and balsamic notes.</p>

The flavours present reflect the aromas on the nose, that is, mainly primary flavours of wild red fruit such as redcurrant, raspberry and red plum. The flavours from the time spent in French oak barrels are of balsamic, resin and smoked wood. The finish is short.</p>
<p>In conclusion, Los Pedros Tinto Roble is acceptable and is best drunk with food high in protein, salt and umami to balance the high acidity of the wine. It would make a good pairing with meat stews or a variety of cheeses and cured meats.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>XIC 2018 IS AN ECOLOGICAL WHITE WINE MADE IN THE HEART OF THE PENEDÈS.  PRODUCED BY CAVAS AGUSTÍ TORELLÓ MATA, IT IS MADE FROM CATALONIA’S INDIGENOUS VARIETY, XAREL·LO, RESULTING IN A REFRESHING WINE THAT CLEARLY DISPLAYS THE CHARACTERISTIC AROMAS TYPICAL OF THIS VARIETY</strong></p>
<p>Granada, 6th December 2019.- Xic is a wine made by <strong>Cavas Agustí Torelló Mata</strong>, stemming entirely from ecological vineyards certified with the CCPAE (Consell Català de Producció Afrícola Ecològica).  The wine starts its life in the vineyards of Finca Mercader which are cultivated at 200 metres above sea level in the depression of the Penedès, where the soil is mainly of calcareous clay.</p>
<p><strong>Xarel·lo</strong> is the variety which boasts the largest surface area of cultivation within the <strong>DO Penedès</strong>, given that it is one of the three most important grape varieties used in the production of cava.  The grapes used to make Xic are harvested by hand to ensure that only the best clusters are selected.  With regards to the winemaking, Xic’s fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 16°C over 21 days.  Then during the following 60 days, the wine experiences a maceration on its lees before finally being bottled in bottles with a label designed by Aina Puig Soler.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/agusti-torello-mata-xic-1425223-s313.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-25842" alt="Xic, un Xarel·lo de Agustí Torelló Mata" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/agusti-torello-mata-xic-1425223-s313-117x300.jpg" width="117" height="300" /></a>Xic</strong> is a young white wine made with the expressive monovarietal, Xarel·lo, an excellent variety for the making of dry white wines.  In appearance, the wine is clear and bright, medium in intensity, pale yellow in colour and leaves fine tears on the sides of the glass.  On the nose, the wine is clean, medium in intensity and mainly displays fruity primary aromas.  The aromas of white fruits are of apple and pear, the stone fruit aromas are of peach and apricot and the tropical fruit aromas are of banana and mango.  There are also citrus aromas of lemon as well as aromas of almonds, perhaps the result of the wine’s maceration on its fine lees.  Furthermore, there are clear notes of varietal aromas which are characteristic of Xarel·lo, that is, vegetal aromas.</p>
<p>On the palate, Xic is dry, with high acidity, it is of medium alcohol, of medium and silky body and has a medium flavour intensity.  It is a fruity and aromatic wine with white fruit flavours of apple and pear, stone fruit flavours of peach and apricot and tropical fruit flavours of banana and mango.  There are also citrus flavours of lemon as well as flavours of almonds, a likely result of the wine’s maceration on its lees.  In addition, the characteristic vegetal flavours of Xarel·lo are detectable.  The finish is medium (+).</p>
<p>In conclusion, the fruity and aromatic wine means that the quality level correctly reflects this variety.  It is suitable to drink Xic during its first year since being bottled, however, to make the most of its freshness, optimal consumption would be from the moment of purchase.  As a Xarel·lo, Xic would make an excellent pairing with cold foods, white meats, fish or as an aperitif, always served well chilled.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>XIC 2018 ÉS UN VI ECOLÓGIC BLANC DE LA COR DE LA DO PENEDÈS.  PRODUÏT PER CAVAS AUGUSTÍ TORELLÓ MATA, ESTÀ ELABORAT AMB RAÏMS DE LA VARIETAT AUTÒCTONA CATALANA, XAREL·LO QUE RESULTA EN UN VI REFRESCANT, MOSTRANT CLARAMENT AROMES PRÒPIES DEL SEU RAÏM.</strong></p>
<p>Granada, 6 de desembre de 2019.-  Xic és un vi de <strong>Cavas Agustí Torelló Mata</strong> que procedeix el 100% de vinyes ecològiques que compta amb el certificat ecològic CCPAE (Consell Català de Producció Agrícola Ecològica), i comença la seva vida des de les pròpies vinyes de Finca Mercader.  Es tracten de vinyes conreades de manera ecològica a 200m d’altitud en la depressió del Penedès on el sòl és principalment d’argiles de tipus calcari.</p>
<p>La <strong>Xarel·lo</strong> és la varietat amb més superfície de cultiu en la <strong>DO Penedès</strong> atès que és una de les tres varietats de vinya més importants en l’elaboració del cava.  Es cullen manualment el raïm, seleccionant només els millors.  Quant a l’elaboració, el raïm està premsat suaument abans que comenci la fermentació.  Parlem d’un procés que pren lloc en dipòsits d’acer inoxidable a 16°C durant 21 dies.  Llavors, durant els 60 dies següents, el vi reposa amb una maceració en les seves lies.  Finalment, embotellen el vi en ampolles amb una etiqueta dissenyada per Aina Puig Soler.</p>
<p><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/agusti-torello-mata-xic-1425223-s313.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-25842" alt="Xic, un Xarel·lo de Agustí Torelló Mata" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/agusti-torello-mata-xic-1425223-s313-117x300.jpg" width="117" height="300" /></a><strong>Xic</strong> és un vi blanc jove elaborat amb el monovarietal expressiu de Xarel·lo, una varietat excel·lent per elaborar vins blancs secs.  En aparença, és un vi clar y brillant, mitjana en intensitat, de color groc pàl·lid y deixa llàgrimes fines a les parets de la copa.  En nas, el vi és net, de intensitat mitjana i mostra principalment aromes primàries de fruites.  Les aromes de fruita blanca són de poma i pera, les aromes de fruita d’os són de préssec i albercoc, i les aromes de fruita tropical són de plàtan i mango.  També hi ha aromes cítriqus de llimona i aromes d’ametlles, potser com a resultat de la maceració en les seves lies.  A més, hi ha notes clares d’aromes varietals característiques de Xarel·lo, és a dir, aromes vegetals.</p>
<p>En boca, Xic és sec, amb acidesa alta, alcohol mitjà, cos mitjà i sedós, i té una intensitat de sabor mitjana.  És un vi afrutat i aromàtic.  Els sabors de fruita blanca són de poma i pera, els sabors de fruita d’os són de préssec i albercoc, i els sabors de fruita tropical són de plàtan i mango.  També hi ha sabors cítrics de llimona, i sabors d’ametlles, potser el resultat de la maceració en les seves lies.  És més, hi ha notes característiques de Xarel·lo, més ben dit, sabors vegetals.  El final és de durada mig (+)</p>
<p>En conclusió, el vi afrutat y aromàtic significa que el nivell de qualitat reflecteix correctament aquesta varietat.  És adequat beure Xic durant el seu primer any de vida, però per aprofitar la seva frescor, el consum òptim seria des del moment de la compra.  Com un Xarel·lo, Xic faria un maridatge d’excel·lència amb menjars freds, carns blanques, peix, o com un aperitiu, sempre servit a baixa temperatura.</p>

<p>Granada, October 21, 2019. – <strong>Allegretto Rosae</strong> is a curious semi-sweet rosé produced by <strong>Bodega La Viña</strong>, a Valencian winery located in the municipality of <em>La Front de la Figuera</em> and belongs to the Anecoop Bodegas group. Founded in 1945, Bodega La Viña operates under the Protected Designation of Origin Valencia.  It has 2,400 hectares of vineyards, the vines of which produce around 11.3 million kilos of grapes annually, with varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Macabeo, Merlot, Monastrell, Syrah, Tempranillo and Tintorera.</p>
<p><strong>Allegretto Rosae 2018</strong> is a youthful semi-sweet rosé.  In appearance, the wine is clear, pale in intensity and pale pink in colour showing hardly any legs/tears, and any that are visible glide quickly down the sides of the glass.  On the nose, the aroma is clean, of medium (-) intensity and is predominantly fruity. It is simple and only primary aromas can be detected.  There are aromas of sweet red fruits such as raspberry and strawberry, floral aromas of blossom and tropical fruits aromas such as lychee, perhaps due to the presence of Gewürztraminer.</p>
<p><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ALLEGRETTO-ROSAE-1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-25432" alt="Allegretto Rosae, curioso rosado de Monastrell y Gewürztraminer" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/ALLEGRETTO-ROSAE-1-107x300.jpg" width="107" height="300" /></a>On the palate, Allegretto Rosae 2018 is a very simple wine that first presents sweet and fruity flavour characteristics.  It is semi-sweet and has a low level of acidity; both these features reflect the sunny and Mediterranean Valencian climate.  It contains only 10.5% alcohol which suggests that the proportion of Monastrell is lower, hence it is light in body with medium (-) intensity of primary flavour characteristics. There are red fruit flavours such as raspberry and strawberry, and notes of tropical fruit flavours such as lychee. The finish is short.</p>
<p>In conclusion, the quality level is acceptable.  The economically low price may make us doubtful as to its drinkability, but it is a tolerable wine suitable for everyday drinking.  Undoubtedly this is a summer wine because it is necessary to serve the Allegretto Rosae very cold, and it would combine well with salads, cold soups, light meals or simply as an appetizer.</p>

<p>Granada, 2nd October 2019 – Coined as the smallest winery in Spain with the production of less than 8,000 bottles per harvest, <strong>Bodega Rambla Huarea</strong> Works with a system of fourteen micro-parcels on terraces, some of which have as few as only fourteen plants.  Bodega Rambla Huarea produces five wines made from six different grape varieties, four of which are red wine and one of which is white.</p>
<p>Due to the vineyards’ location being only 400 metres above sea level, and therefore so close to the sea, Bodega Rambla Huarea is one of the first to harvest in the province of <strong>Granada</strong>.  The harvest is carried out by hand with the utmost care and only the best grapes are selected.</p>

<p>On the palate, this Poeta en Nueva York is dry with medium (-) acidity which reflects the low altitude of the vineyards and the sunny climate.  It is of medium alcohol, full in body and of medium flavour intensity.  There are primary flavours of red fruit such as strawberry, raspberry, plum, fig and cherry, and spice flavours such as vanilla.  The finish is refreshingly long.</p>
<p>In conclusion, the quality level is good, and it is suitable to drink now.  The Poeta en Nueva York, Tempranillo 2017 would pair well with light meals and perhaps even lightly chilled to drink on a warm and balmy summer evening.</p>

<p><strong>Raventós Codorníu</strong>, incorporates <strong>Emmanuel Pouey</strong> into his management team as <strong>Global Marketing Director.</strong> Pouey will be the worldwide marketing manager of the oldest winery company in Spain, which includes renowned wineries of international prestige such as: Raimat, Codorníu, Legaris, Bodegas Bilbaínas, Parxet, Tionio, Abadia de Poblet, Scala Dei, Raventós de Alella, Portal de Montsant, Mont-Ferrant, among others.</p>
<p>Born in Bordeaux, Emmanuel Pouey grew up among vineyards in the family winery, Château de Pressac, in Saint-Emilion. Emmanuel has more than thirty years of international experience in the consumer market. As a veteran of the wine and spirits industry, before joining Raventós Codorníu, he developed his career for twenty years in the Bacardi Group in France, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. Among the positions of responsibility he held there, those of Director General of Portugal, CMO of Southern Europe and World Vice President of Innovation stand out.</p>
<p>Pouey has dedicated most of his career to building and strengthening major iconic brands such as Bacardí, Martini, Grey Goose, Bombay, or more recently the Carbonell, Carapelli, Bertolli oils from world leader Deoleo. Much of his projects in the industry have been recognized with numerous awards in international competitions.</p>
<p>Its incorporation into Raventós Codorníu is part of the company&#8217;s clear commitment to the value of origin, leadership and the search for authenticity from the land, to turn its brands into referents in the global wine sector.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>THIS PINOTAGE IS PRODUCED BY A COLLECTIVE OF GROWERS BASED IN THE BEAUTIFUL VINEYARDS OF WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA</strong></p>
<p>Ruthin (Wales, United Kingdom), 20th August 2019. – <strong>Pinotage</strong> is a cross of <strong>Cinsault</strong> and <strong>Pinot Noir</strong> grape plants.  It was crossed for the first time in South Africa in 1925 in the gardens of scientist <strong>Abraham Perold</strong>.  Perold realised that Pinot Noir adapted very well to the climate of South Africa, and he hence crossed it with Cinsault, a very productive variety, with the end goal of creating a wine that was as delicious as Pinot Noir and a plant as vigorous and productive as Cinsault.</p>
<p>The growers planted the vines between 2000 and 2004, ensuring that they chose the most appropriate clone and the rootstock which would adapt to the rich soils of Western Cape.  Furthermore, the growers prune the vines to achieve a well-balanced crop and they manage vineyard practices to make the most of the climate.  One example is that they monitor weekly the need for irrigation, to guarantee that the vines are never stressed during the growing or maturation season.</p>
<p>Western Cape predominantly experiences a Mediterranean climate where the coastal regions are influenced by nearby oceans, that is, the cold Benguela current (in the Atlantic Ocean) which flows from the South Pole along the western coast, and the warmer current of Mozambique (in the Indian Ocean) which follows the south coast.</p>
<p>They harvested the grapes in the cold of the early morning to preserve the aromas and flavours.  After a gentle destemming, they crushed the grapes and transferred them to stainless steel tanks where pre-fermentation maceration was carried out for three days at 10°C.  Standard maceration followed with two pumps over until fermented dry.</p>

<p>On the palate, this Pinotage is dry, with medium (-) acidity, medium alcohol, a full body and has a medium (+) flavour intensity.  There are primary flavours of black fruit such as blackberry and black plum, herbaceous flavours such as such as leaves, rooibos and bell pepper and spiced flavours such as liquorice.  There are secondary flavours such as coffee, chocolate, tobacco and smoke.  The finish is medium.</p>
<p>In conclusion, the quality level is good.  It is suitable to drink now, but has potential to age for up to two years.  This Pinotage would pair well with food with big, bold flavours such as barbequed meat and roast game.</p>

<p>Ruthin (Wales, United Kingdom), 28th June 2019 – In the 19th century, <strong>Marlborough</strong> was an area of prominently grain growing, however, from the end of the 1970s, it saw the start of an upward trend in vine-growing, subsequently becoming the most extensive wine region in New Zealand.</p>
<p>Marlborough is a mountainous region located in the north of the South Island, between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean.  In Marlborough, the climate is moderately cool, with long days of sun followed by cold nights, and there is a stony soil which allows for free drainage of excess water; characteristics that make the region an ideal place for viticulture.</p>
<p>Today, Marlborough is famous worldwide for its fresh, fruity and herbaceous <strong>Sauvignon Blanc</strong>.  <strong>Wairau Cove winery</strong> was founded in 2004, but it already claims to process more than 15% of all wine grapes in New Zealand.</p>
<p><a href="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Wairau-Cove-bottle.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-24967" alt="Wairau Cove, un Sauvignon Blanc fresco y punzante de Marlborough, la región vinícola más vanguardista de Nueva Zelanda" src="https://globalstylus.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Wairau-Cove-bottle-124x300.jpg" width="124" height="300" /></a>In appearance, Wairau Cove, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018 is a clear wine, of pale intensity and is lemon in colour.  On the nose it is clean and is of medium (+).  The aroma characteristics display the distinct characteristics of the varietal, being predominantly primary.  There are floral aromas of elderflower; green fruit aromas of gooseberry and green apple; citrus aromas of lemon, grapefruit and lime; tropical fruit aromas of passion fruit; and herbaceous aromas of green pepper and asparagus.</p>
<p>On the palate, this Sauvignon Blanc displays the same flavours as the aroma characteristics.  Given that the wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, it is vinified at a low temperature which makes the wine zingy, zesty, lively, fruity with a mineral sensation; the essence of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.  It is dry, of high acidity which gives an electric sensation, of medium alcohol and is medium (-) in body.  The flavour intensity is pronounced, with characteristics that include: floral flavours of elderflower; green fruit flavours of gooseberry and green apple; citrus flavours of lemon and lime; and tropical fruit flavours of passion fruit.</p>
<p>The quality of this wine is very good.  This Sauvignon Blanc is idea for drinking now and over the next few months, not suitable for further ageing.  This Sauvignon Blanc would pair well with Asian cuisine, grilled fish, seafood, salads or as an aperitif.</p>

<p>Cardiff, (Wales, United Kingdon), June 21, 2019.- Founded in 1918, <strong>Cheste Agraria</strong> is one of the oldest Wine Cooperatives in Spain.  They elaborate this <strong>&#8216;Velada&#8217;</strong>, a medium sweet white wine made with <strong>Muscatel of Alexandria</strong>, the most aromatic white grape of the Mediterranean.</p>
<p>In appearance, it is a pale wine, of pale intensity and is straw-coloured with some evidence of tears on the sides of the glass.  The nose is clean and of medium intensity.  The aroma characteristics are predominantly primary and simple, with floral aromas of elderflower; green fruit aromas of gooseberries and grapes; citrus aromas of lime; and tropical fruit aromas of lychee, mango and passion fruit.</p>
<p>On the palate, this wine is reminiscent of a Gewürztraminer, but it is lighter, simpler and sweeter; it is medium sweet, with medium (-) acidity, medium alcohol and is light in body.  The intensity of the flavour is medium with a medium (-) finish.  Both the flavour characteristics and the aforementioned fruity aroma characteristics are predominantly primary.  There are floral flavours of orange blossom; green fruit flavours of grapes, gooseberries and ripe pears; citrus flavours of lime; stone fruit flavours of ripe peach; and tropical flavours of lychee and mango.</p>
